NAPLES PIER, a symbol of Naples history

On the beach, two blocks from Third Street  South

the Naples Pier extends 1,000 feet into the Gulf.

A Naples landmark, it was built in 1888, during  a time when

access to the city was only possible by water.

There was a Post Office located on the pier until 1912, when it was

destroyed  by fire.

It is also a major site of the city's  4th of July

and New Year's Eve fireworks display.

Locals and visiting tourists enjoy walking on the pier, admiring

great views, wildlife and fishing.
